01

Your room today

Record the room type, approximate size and the features that need to remain. Take a wide photo from each corner and note doors, windows and existing appliances or fixtures. Keep private documents out of reference photos.

02

Your priorities

Write down three things that currently frustrate you and three things you want to preserve. Separate must-haves from nice-to-haves. Include needs such as easier access, more storage or a better place to gather.

03

Your visual direction

Choose a few reference images and describe the details you like. Note preferred colors, materials and the overall feeling. A short explanation is more useful than a large folder of unexplained images.

Prepare questions, not assumptions.

A realistic plan needs clarity about scope, product selection, responsibilities and timing. Before engaging any project professional, ask what their proposal includes, what remains undecided and how changes would be documented.

From idea to clarity

A more useful
starting point.

01

Scope & priorities

What is changing, and what is staying? Which decisions are essential to the outcome? Are there other rooms or household routines that the work could affect?

02

Budget & timing

Record a comfortable planning range and any important dates. Ask how allowances, contingencies, delivery lead times and changes are handled. Avoid treating an inspiration image as a price or schedule.

03

Products & responsibilities

Who verifies final dimensions? Who confirms product compatibility and site requirements? Which selections must be resolved before ordering? Keep written specifications with the final decisions.

Good questions

A little more
clarity.

Do I need exact measurements to start?

Rough dimensions help organize an initial discussion. They are not a substitute for verified measurements used for ordering, fabrication or installation.

Can I submit this planner online?

No. This page is a personal preparation guide and does not send or store your answers. Keep your notes on your own device or print the page for reference.

What is the most useful next step?

Review the guide for your room, compare the relevant cabinet and countertop choices, and assemble a brief that explains both your practical needs and your preferred atmosphere.
