The material edit

Choose the right foundation.

Explore vinyl, laminate, hardwood and porcelain as distinct material choices. A wood appearance does not mean a product is made from wood.

These are curated product families and category references, not live stock or guaranteed installation suitability. Confirm the current specification, availability and all room-specific conditions.

Continuity is in the details.

Choose the product for the setting as well as the appearance. Review actual samples, current technical guidance and the complete installation system before finalizing a selection.

01

Room & routine

Consider entry points, pets, chairs, cooking and moisture exposure. Read the exact product’s limitations rather than relying on a broad waterproof or durable label.

02

Subfloor & transitions

Subfloor condition, flatness, moisture and finished height affect the result. Plan door clearances, adjacent floors and stair edges with the installation requirements in view.

03

Tone & direction

View several boards or tiles together to understand repetition and variation. Compare them with cabinetry and stone, and plan the direction through connected rooms.

The details matter.

Is waterproof flooring a waterproof room?

No. A product’s water-resistance claim does not establish a waterproof room assembly. Seams, perimeters, subfloor conditions and installation details still matter.

Are luxury vinyl, laminate and engineered wood interchangeable?

No. They have different constructions and care or installation requirements. Compare the material and exact specification, not just the surface photograph.

How should I shortlist colors?

Choose a few physical samples and view them beside cabinets and countertops in daylight and evening light. Include transition pieces and trim in your final review.

Connect the whole room.
